Google Analytics (GA) is an online tool that will help you to better understand your website visitors and customers.
GA is basically a software that connects to your website via a tracking code. This tracking code will give you information about the people who are visiting your website.
The standard version of GA is free to set up and use.
Some important reasons for tracking on GA include:
- Acquisition –> how do you acquire users? How many? From where?
- Behaviour –> how do users behave on your site?
- Conversion –> do users take a desired action on the site?
The idea is to study the behaviour of your visitors to your website so that you can deliver better results.
For example, I know from using GA that up to 80% of my visitors to (one of) my websites come from Pinterest. That knowledge is GOLD!
